At Rockhampton State High School, we know that consistent attendance is key to student success. Missing just one day of school each week can add up to nearly two months of lost learning across the year - time that cannot be replaced.
The Every Day Counts initiative highlights the importance of regular attendance and the role we all play in supporting it. When students are at school everyday, they are more connected, more confident in their learning, and better positioned to achieve success.
This initiative is built around four key messages:
- Every child should be enrolled at school and attend every school day.
- Schools actively monitor attendance, communicate with familiies, and implement strategies to support regular attendance.
- Unexplained absences and truancy can place students at risk and impact future opportunities.
- Supporting school attendance is a shared responsibility across families, schools and the wider community.
We encourage all families to prioritise attendance and partner with us to support your child's learning journey.
