Rockhampton State High School recently held a two-day workshop for year 6 students from our primary feeder schools to plan and create their very own short story. The workshop aimed to extend and refine students’ creative writing skills and further engage students in reading and writing.Experienced English teachers Mrs Petula Jacobs & Mrs Jodie Foale ran the program with students from Gracemere SS, Port Curtis SS & Stanwell SS. The second day of the workshop involved mentoring by year 10 Extension English students who assisted with proof-reading & editing of students’ stories.
Students were presented with the anthology of short stories created by participants this term. The workshop was very well received by all that attended and supported by our primary feeder schools.
